We invite you to be a part of the 2013 NC Azalea Festival Parade! The 66th North Carolina Azalea Festival Parade will be held Saturday, April 13th, 2013 in downtown Wilmington, NC. People come form all over to veiw this event. After 65 years of this event being held annually, we are now recognized as one of the top one hundred events to attend in the tourists and travel industry. It is important that we put on an entertaining and engaging show for both attendees and television viewers alike. We ask that you decorate accordingly and not only present your group, but the pride and joy that flows from within. The price for each unit to enter the parade $350.00.
The price to enter the parade as a float is $1150.00. This fee includes the entry fee of $350.00 and a float rental fee. Customization can be made to your float for an additional fee based on your order. The float pricing includes the purchase of azaleas to be displayed on your float during the parade. Distribution of azaleas will take place the morning of the parade. Following the parade, you are encouraged to plant the azaleas throughout the community for the beautification of the area.
Car Club Pricing
The price to enter the parade as a car club, motorcycle group, ATV group, etc. is $350.00 for the first 10 units and $25.00 per any additional unit over ten. (Unit being 1 car, 1 motorcycle, etc.)
The price to enter the parade as a queen is $150.00.
Horse Group Pricing
The price to enter the parade as a horse group is $350.00. If your group will incorporate the use of ATV's, there is an additional fee of $250.00 for the first 10 units and $15.00 per unit thereafter. Please complete two applications and list separately should you wish to enter ATV's and horses. Individual horse groups without ATV's should complete one application.
Coggins documents must be presented for the event on each horse.
You are not required to submit payment until your unit has been contacted by the coordinator and accepted into the parade. Once accepted, your coordinator will send you notification by email with instructions on submitting waivers and fees. You are required to return waivers with your payment by January 31st, the due date. If payment is not received on time, your unit may not be allowed to participate in the parade. A late fee of $75.00 will apply to all applicatnts who have not paid in full by January 31st. Late fees incur from February 1st - February 15th. The cut off date for applications is February 15, 2013. No applications will be accepted after February 15th.
October 1, 2012 - November 31, 2012: Early registration discount
All groups shall receive an early bird discount of $50.00.
All individuals shall receive a discount of $25.00.
December 1, 2012 - February 28, 2013: Normal pricing will apply
March 1, 2013 - March15, 2013: $75.00 late fee will apply to all units in the parade that have not paid in full on or before February 28, 2013.
